The inaugural exhibit, Hip Hop Lives: Honoring 50 Years of Art, History and Culture, will run through June. Featuring works by renowned and emerging artists including Julian V.L. Gaines, Miss Me, Eric Orr & Keith Haring and Mia Lee, the exhibit tackles issues such as racial identity, police brutality, mass incarceration, and community empowerment through a lens of hip hop culture.

Visitors can expect to see paintings, sculptures, murals, graffiti, and interactive installations that capture the energy, spirit, and message of hip hop.

This space is meant to serve the community - those interested in discussing activations during our exhibit of the Black Gallery collection are welcome to contact us. We plan to host workshops, events and educational programs this summer and invite your ideas and collaboration: info@theblackgallerypdx.com
