Join Us Saturday, 11/5 For A Workshop And Artist Talk With Julian Gaines At PNCA!

This Saturday November 5th kicks off the Not Black Friday season - join Don’t Shoot Portland as we begin preparing to Reclaim MLK in the new year!

This will include coordinating volunteers, building community outreach and educating young activists and artists for a new year of social change. The first event of the series will kick off on November 5th at PNCA where we will host art workshops, an artist talk and breakout meetings for volunteers interested in joining the January 15th action.

Those interested in volunteering with Don't Shoot Portland for Reclaim MLK are encouraged to attend from 10am to 3pm.

Don’t Shoot Portland is collaborating with the Pacific Northwest College of Art’s MFA in Print Media to host our annual sign making for the Reclaim MLK March. Bring family and friends to participate in art workshops (designed for youth of all ages!) followed by an artist talk with Julian Gaines. The day will begin with art workshops and mural making from 10am - 2pm followed by a talk with the artist at 3pm. Activities will include screen printing, stamp making, painting and more.  Wear your DSPDX swag and bring your friends and family!

This event is free and open to the public. We will be providing free catering on-site by one of our favorite local chefs, Nikeisah Newton of Meals4Heels
